Green Zero goes for rolling road set-up

The green Zero that we have for sale on this web site has been taken to our bike carb specialist Torque Tune. After many changes and modifications to the bike carbs it came away with 122bhp at the back wheels. With the standard engine figures being in the low 100bhp bracket at the flywheel, we were very pleased with these performance figures.

This car was brought in with a running issue. After an inspection, there were a few small problems which all combined made one big one.

This is a full build on a zero for a customer. It is running a 2.1 pinto which has had work done to it to perform 145bhp at the rear wheels. It runs on zx9 bike carbs and will be built with weight in mind. It will be using ETB instruments and a Automotive Solutions & Racing touch to the dash.

Gold super spec passes i.v.a with flying colours.

This was a customers car built early 2010 and is now on the road. As you can see it has the gold titanium panels that was offered as an optional extra when the kit was brought. There are only a few of these around and i must say they do look good. Click on picture for more.

ST170 conversion.

This is our track day car, that belongs to one of my customers. After our visit to Cadwell park last year it was decided it needed more power!

The plan and general idea was for more power within a budget. We decided to go for a ford st170 engine, a five speed gearbox, Mega jolt ignition system and bike carbs. We took it for a rolling road set-up and managed to get 145bhp at the wheels.

Text Box: This is a customerís car that had excessive play in the front suspension. It was found that the top pivot bolt was seized in the top arm and this caused the bolt to elongate the hole in the mount and reduce the diameter of the bolt. If this had been left much longer, the top bolt would have sheered off and the suspension would have collapse.  I would recommend everyone who has this type of suspension to check it for wear. To do this you would have to simply jack up the front suspension enough to raise the front wheels off the floor and apply pressure to the top wishbone. Also keep one eye on the bolt as you jack it up. If you require any info on how to fix this then please email me and I will send you the info or give me a call. Also something to look for is a twist in the top angle iron. The same customer also had his car re-carpeted and the dash painted with dash paint, specially designed for leatherette.

Automotive Solutions & Racing go to Cadwell park for a track day.

On friday the 13th of November (of all days) it was decided to go on a track day with one of our good customers David Meenan. Having never been on a track day before it was going to be a learning curve for the both of us. When we arrived at the track, it was very wet as it had rained through the night, and in driver's briefing we were all told to take it steady epically around the hairpin to the barn corner (so we did our best). Both myself and David are very interested in doing track days so this was our tester to see what it was all about. David is at the wanting to upgrade stage and I'm still in the building stage so this was our way to find out what was needed to be done. We were both going to use David's car which has a 2ltr pinto, four speed gearbox and some new proxy 888 tyres. The first thing that we knew was that we needed to change the gearbox to a five speed as the gears were too long and bogged the engine down. The tyres we used were correct and very good for the job. The most important thing that we knew and noticed even more was the lack of horsepower. We are now going to rectify this! I would like to thank David for the use of his car and for the experience to go around a track. I would recommend it to everyone, especially if you think you can drive fast. We are going to do more track days, so why don't you come along with us you might enjoy it. Just email me to find out when we are going again.
